Step by step instructions on how to use the Kane Ancestral Map of Ireland

Step 1

Locate your name from the list along the edge of the map and note the Reference Numbers listed after the name.

Step 2

Compare the Reference Numbers after your name to the Location Key located on the middle right of the map. This will tell you in what Counties your family originated and held power.

Step 3

Find your name within the County and Baronies outlined.

Step 4

Reference the letter after your name against the Social Position Table on the middle right of the map. This will indicate your family's Social Position.

Step 5

Finally, locate your family's origins in the Royal Malesian line on the bottom of the Map.
